It really looks like a nice place from the street, don't be fooled!
This is my go-to store in Chatham when I need something for the house, or one of the homes I'm selling. And when I am looking for personal customer service and/or advice/answers. They are always helpful, and I've never had a problem with my credit cards being accepted! This is an old-fashioned family hardware store. The prices are higher because the rent on Main Street Chatham is higher! You're paying for helpful service and the convenience of not driving to Hyannis. I'll take that any day!
I was incredibly disappointed in my visit. Firstly, a sample size can of WD-40 was over $5.00! Then the cashier an older fellow (possibly the owner) told me that my credit card was declined (it was perfectly fine since I used it before I went there and after I left) presumably he didn't want to pay the transaction fee. Unreal!
Fortunately, I was on vacation and the chances I will ever need to go back there are slim. Don't waste your time or hard earned money.
