I rented a Hobie with my 8 year old son and went out with one of the instructors by the name of Eric. My son and I both had a great time running up and down the coast off Chatham and learning about everything from local real estate to area marine life. The highlight of the trip was definitely the seals. They practically swim right up to the boat as you sail. These animals are huge and some must weigh 500 pounds. I am a long time catamaran owner, and you can't beat the value of renting with this company. No rigging, no dragging the boat to the water, young guys to help you shove off--so easy it makes you feel a little guilty. Wonderful experience.
I wanted to surprise my boyfriend with a sailing lesson and it truly couldn't have gone better than it did. Eric was such an amazing instructor who was personable and knowledgeable. He communicated with me via email and even checked in before his lesson to update us on the weather and make sure he was dressed appropriately. If we were staying longer my boyfriend would go back! Highly recommend.
My partner and I had an excellent experience with Chatham Sailboat Rentals. We had been looking for a day sail rental company for quite quite a while, and Chatham Sailboat Rentals was just what we were looking for. Eric was very professional and friendly, and we were so happy he could accommodate us off season in October. He was diligent to check in with us about the weather and confirm it would be a good day to sail, and before we set off shore he briefed us on the area and the best spots to visit. The boat (Hobie Wave) was in great condition and a joy to be on. The area was beautiful and just what we were looking for out of a Cape Cod day sail. Eric kindly sent photos of us and our boat so we could remember the experience. Will definitely be coming back!
